Ensuring Our Healthy Future Campaign
Welcome to the Ensuring Our Healthy Future Campaign Page!
SEARAC and its community partners have embarked on a collective effort to shape health care reform implementation plans in five states. The overall goal of the Ensuring Our Healthy Future Campaign, is to ensure that community members have a seat at the decision-making table during implementation of the Affordable Care Act. Implementation of the ACA presents an enormous opportunity for the Southeast Asian American (SEAA) community to participate and support the development of more socially just, accountable, and responsive health policies that will ensure that all communities have greater access to quality health care.
The Ensuring Our Healthy Future Campaign focuses on two main goals: (1) engaging local stakeholders in California, Louisiana, Maryland, Minnesota, and Pennsylvania to ensure that Southeast Asian American voices are included during implementation of the ACA; and (2) informing Southeast Asian American communities about the provisions that will affect the quality and access of their health care.

Share Your Story
Have a health care story to share? Can you talk about what it’s like to be without health care insurance? The Southeast Asia Resource Action Center (SEARAC) is collecting health care stories of Southeast Asian Americans to illustrate the health care needs of community members, and to illustrate how the Affordable Care Act is making a difference in real people’s lives. We will use your stories to educate others about health care needs in the Southeast Asian American community, in meetings with elected officials, and with the media. Send us your picture and tell us your story! Details on how to do that are here.
