SEAA My Story in Data Digital Series Celebrates Our Unique Communities

Through powerful visuals and compelling narratives, we invite you to explore and engage with the stories that shape our collective experience.

SEARAC is proud to announce the release of SEAA My Story in Data, a series of digital illustrations produced in collaboration with our talented inaugural artist-in-residence Natalie Bui.

This innovative four-part series aims to uplift our diverse Southeast Asian American communities, highlighting the shared — and distinct — experiences of our refugee legacies. Through powerful visuals and compelling narratives, we invite you to explore and engage with the stories that shape our collective experience.

The first set of images released today explores the question: what is data equity? We encourage you to download and share across your networks, using sample language from our social media toolkit. Follow us on social media @searac to be the first to know when subsequent sets of illustrations are released and be part of the movement for data equity!

SEARAC’s first-ever artist-in-residence was made possible by a generous grant from the W. K. Kellogg Foundation. Special thanks to Alliance of Rhode Island Southeast Asians for Education, Empowering Pacific Islander Communities, Hmong American Partnership, Iu Mien Community Services, Laotian American National Alliance, and Legacies of War for their contributions to the research behind this series.

About the artist.
