SEARAC Launches National Policy Priorities for Southeast Asian American Equity

SEARAC is proud to share its National Southeast Asian American Equity Agenda, following a community-centered process that included interviews with more than 30 partner organizations that serve, empower, educate, and advocate on behalf of Southeast Asian American (SEAA) communities nationwide.

Through this methodology, SEARAC learned about equity challenges and solutions to build thriving SEAA communities. Building on this analysis, SEARAC’s equity agenda seeks to bridge the gap between local community need and national policy opportunities to drive equity in the areas of census, education, health, and immigration. The equity agenda outlines SEARAC’s priorities leading to 2020.

This equity agenda would not be possible without the  leadership of our community partners, who work tirelessly to build power in SEAA communities nationwide,” said Quyen Dinh, executive director of SEARAC. “We commit to working with communities nationwide to achieve equity, and we hope that communities see themselves in this national Southeast Asian American equity agenda. Our priorities are rooted in our communities’ hopes and aspirations for true equity.”
