Southeast Asian American Journeys Virtual Screening Celebrates Community Stories

On Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, audiences across the country came together for a virtual national screening of Southeast Asian American Journeys, a five-part docuseries highlighting the diverse stories of five Southeast Asian American communities in remembrance of the community’s 50th year anniversary in America.

Attendees had the unique opportunity to hear directly from the voices that brought these stories to life and engage in discussions about identity, heritage, and belonging.

“Sharing these stories with communities across the country reveals the power of revolutionary storytelling to reshape the American narrative. I am profoundly grateful to the filmmakers and heroes of Southeast Asian American Journeys whose work captures the beauty and soul of our communities. Their courage and creativity illuminate the intertwined histories and shared destinies of America’s many diasporas,” said Quyên Đinh, SEARAC Executive Director and Executive Producer.

“This collection of stories shine light on the undertold experiences of Southeast Asian Americans,” said Don Young, CAAM Executive Director and Executive Producer. “The continuing interest in these screenings reflects the relevance of narratives about this population, 50 years after the end of the war in Vietnam prompted one of the most significant migrations in U.S. history.”

The event drew community leaders, educators, and members of the public, all coming together to celebrate Southeast Asian American experiences. The series not only showcased the diversity of resettlement stories across Southeast Asian American communities but also highlighted the power of storyte
